Last days have, again, been kinda low energy. That was cause of Monday’s trip but also another yeaterday

I had to head down to sainsburys to pick up some stuff mum ordered, which ended up being annoying cause it was a warm day. On the plus side I did got to TK and got 3 more Agatha Christie fancy paperbacks: The Big Four, Mystery On The Blue Train and Poirot Investigates. And I was also able to use a Burger King code for the loaded force fries which were so nice I’m definitely gonna get more

The low energy did mean I woke up feeling… bleh. Followed by drilling sounds briefly outside that made it worse. But ugh my uni motivation has just… totally gone.

Also my mood hasn’t been helped that the iPad had an update with the stupid age verification thing, but of course it’s implemented badly. It doesn’t recognise either my card or ID, or the pact that there’s stored payment info. Apparently it’s an issue with a lot of people but… ugh. I hate this age verification bull they’re imposing on us.

On a plus side Star Fox was surprised announced last night and it looks pretty cool.

I had hoped to read some Free Comic Book Day comics today but only read 2. (I did order some of the ones I missed out on though).

First was Minotaur. I knew nothing whatsoever about this. It’s a new thing so it’s a little prologue, plus preview of the first issue. 5 years prior to the story a singularity happened in a data Center, it was stopped but there was enough time for strange things to seep into the world. A guy that knows about it has recruited a reporter to investigate and reveal what’s going on. I’m intrigued enough by the premise that I might get the first issue when it comes out (especially since the creator compares it to x-files)

Second was Lego Batman, which was very funny. It seriously made me laugh which I think I needed a bit.

I had meant to read others but alas didn’t. So Imight tomorrow

This morning we went to see the ducks and while we didn’t see any ducklings there were some baby geese and baby coots. Pics under the cut

Lastly thoughts on two other recent films. Insidious Tales and Warning From Space.

Plans for the coming nights (provided energy isn’t bad)
*Next ep of The Pitt
*Back to Stranger Things Tales Of 85
*Pizza Movie
*Back to Heated Rivalry (finally)
*Back to The Beauty (also finally)
*Finally finishing Welcome To Derry (this is very much dependant on mood)

Also continuing Doctor Who run with Caves Of Androzani but that might be a daytime thing. (And I might rewatch Solo on Sunday too)

(I also might do a film post since its a third of the way through the year and I’d seen 20 films in the cinema in the first four months so that feels a good place to do an overview thing. But who knows!)

But now it’s time for Taskmaster.

Just us what?

Belated happy Star Wars day for yesterday! (Though I know people call today Revenge Of The 5th so it kinda counts)

I didn’t do much Star Wars related yesterday due to heading to the cinema. I did do some Lego Star Wars free play levels (from Episode II) before heading out and when I got back I did a little on Fortnite (thou* not the Star Wars modes). I have finally got galaxy of heroes to work again it just sucks I missed out on the Andor era but at least it’s in time for the new one.

I did watch the finale of Mail Shadow Lord when I got back, no spoilers but it was pretty great though also a bit sad. I do feel bad for Maul cause of all that which is wild to think about really.

I was thinking of building the Lego X-Wing yesterday but I just had no time. (If I’d not gone out I’d have done it probably.) I did do the little Razor Crest Sunday which was a clever build for something so small, as well as Cobb Vanth’s speeder which looks so cool. Yeah it’s out of scale but that doesn’t matter much to me it looks so nice.

But anyway!

Yesterday I ended up going to the cinema for The Sheep Detectives and Hokum. I went straight to the cinema but it was pretty busy when I got there so I missed most of the sheep detective trailers. (And all the ones for Hokum were repeats alas I expected at least one new one, or even to switch Passenger for the newer one)

Thoughts on both under the cut, there won’t be spoilers for The Sheep Detectives (cause murder mystery) but there might be some for Hokum. (Also there’s unexpected cuteness too)

Next cinema trip might be next week for Obsession (and to use a Burger King code I got sent) then it’s the Mandalorian and Grogu the week after!

Today, as mentioned, I built up the New Republic X-Wing, which was a pretty cool build (and yay getting Colonel Ward!) annoyingly one of the parts has flew off (a bit for one of the laser cannons) and I can’t figure out where it’s gone. So one of the four is a bit shorter than the others,

I might put thoughts for Warning From Space in the next post (I was here but I’m feeling a lil tired so…).

Now I’m gonna rest a bit and then… I’m not sure.

So past days ended up even more tiring. This was because mum decided we needed compost, hence heading down to get it from Home Bargains. Alas that meant I had to carry the thing around the store which… ugh. Was tiring. (I did get a lil Nubs on his speeder bike and doorables that includes Queen Amidala herself!)

Then yesterday I ended up spending the morning in the garden. Not cause of the compost but cause Naryu found a little bird. It seemed to be ok, so we put it on a chair and I kept watch to make sure the parents spotted it. Thankfully they did and the black bird parents fed them on there, at least until it hoped off it. I’m not sure what happened to it cause they were gone when I checked later,

I’m gonna make a seperate post for these but I watched a random ‘film’ called Insidious Tales and then Warning From Space last night. Proper thoughts on both tomorrow maybe. Also last night was the finale of Beyond Paradise (satisfying ending is all I’ll say) and an ep of The Pitt (poor Dennis needing new scrubs already).

Today was a trip out for Free Comic book day and Lego stuff and… it was a mixed bag.

We went straight to the Lego Store and there was already a queue. However they let us join and gave us cute tickets (66 and 67) to get the make and take. It’s of the Mandalorian’s N1 starfighter which is really cool! I love it. I also got the new Razor Crest polybag by getting the New Republic X-Wing. (I worked out it’s been 10 years since I got a full size Lego X-wing!) I’m glad it’s got a Colonel Ward I’m so excited to see her in action (and Carson Teva who’s awesome). I didn’t get the Darksaber cause it needed £145 spent which felt so much, but I do wanna get the cute Anzellan ship (alas it wasn’t on display)

Instead of going to get the comics we went further into the bullring which ended up being a mistake. I looked in hmv but alas they didn’t have the blu rays I was looking for (the offer wasn’t on display so I couldn’t find them to look at them) but then… ugh

We went to the entertainer cause it had another Make And Take, the Bantha I got before. I expected it to be like previous times I went, with just a short wait but this time… nope. The queue was barely moved and we had to be there for over an hour. It was a bit ridiculous, the build is pretty involved but they only had two instructions both black and white and only one small area to build. Usually that’s fine but this time… I dunno. To quote the simpsons, it was a veritable orgasm of poor planning.

We did get to the Forbidden Planet, which had a signed books sale online but none were in the store. Maybe I’ll order them but shipping is usually terrible from them. I did get some mandalorian books, plus a Star Trek one and a treasures of batuu one (I’ve not seen what the treasures are yet) plus a micro galaxy blind box (Ahsoka on a speeder) and two black series figures: a Halloween one and Merrin.

There were also Free Comic book day blind bags and I got the sonic + dc one I wanted, plus one with Jeff the land shark. The others weren’t on my main list of wants but I’ll see.

When we got to the other forbidden planet, usually our first stop, cause you can use what you get. Alas pretty much everything was gone which was a shame. The only one I was really after from the choices was the Alien one. I might have to hunt down the masters of the universe/dungeons and dragons, aquamantee and nice house on the lake. (And I think there’s another too) (Also alas they didn’t have the Maul comic I wanted to buy)

Alas the waiting in the entertainer also meant I missed the theatre’s open day which was a shame (though looking at the insta it seems a lot was kid focussed so maybe I didn’t miss as much as I think)

On the way back I got off in town to the smyths cause they had a Lego mandalorian and Grogu cap if you got a set. So I got Cobb Vanth’s speeder (which I wanted and was on offer) plus the funkos if Maul and Icarus.

Now I’m just gonna flop, I dunno if I’ll build any Lego or read anything today but maybe tomorrow. I did end up listening to the Solo soundtrack which has made me wanna watch it again.

I had hoped to do more again these past nights but I just… didn’t. My energy has just.. gone.

Friday I put watched Don’t Look now on tv (after The Pitt) and my focus wasn’t there for it. Saturday I watched Planet Of Fire just fine but Sunday I was just… gone. Same Monday. It’s so incredibly irritating, ugh. I just wanna be able to watch and do stuff but my body is like nope.

Sigh

I had hoped to watched things but I didn’t even manage to watch Tales From 85 (bar one ep after The Pitt) which ugh.

Gaming wise I did do Alien Isolation’s Crew Expendable dlc for Alien Day. It was just a short thing but it was nice to explore a bit of the Nostromo. (I’ve not finished the main game though, but a sequel is coming.) On the other hand yesterday I started Tiny Book Shop on game pass which was cute, plus there’s a dog to pet (I assume you can make him your friend as the game goes on too)

Yesterday mum’s friend came but thankfully it didn’t mean going anywhere which was good. Today though the weather turned chilly and the noises resumed outside after a few week break ugh. Also there was also an issue with the food shop, when the delivery guy almost left us without fridge stuff (and he’d not parked outside to go after him). Thankfully he realised and came back but ugh.

On the plus side the new mandalorian and Grogu Robinsons drink is really nice.

As mentioned above Saturday was the next of Who ray run, Planet Of Fire.

Planet Of Fire is very much a checklist episode (something which the making of confirmed). It had to introduce a new companion (Peri), be the last ep of another (Turlough), include the master (and his possible ‘death’), bring back and get rid of Kamelion and feature Lanzarote as a location. As always with a checklist like that results are mixed.

Peri’s introduction was ok, but it could’ve been better. She’s very much one of those companions that inadvertently ends up in the tardis rather than choosing to be. But I guess she got what she wanted, adventure away from her step father.

Turlough’s departure fares better, as this was very much a Turlough centric ep unlike some departure eps. Though it did feel like a bit of an info dump at times about his past. Still him heading home with a brother her never knew was a good ending, better than some anyway.

Kamelion was a bit eh. I mean I can see the appeal of him but it was clear he didn’t work from the first ep. Why they didn’t just write him out the pan I’ll never know. It’s weird cause he’s essentially been hanging in the tardis for… however many eps without even a mention (I wonder if people had even forgot he was there at the time). It’s funny then that this was also a story about him but it has no weight to it since he was a non entity for so long.

The master returning worked out ok and the reveal of him in the box was funny, but him being put to the flames of course wasn’t the end of him as we know, maybe if it was it would’ve hit different.

The location was used pretty well both as itself (Peri’s story starts in Lanzarote) and the surface of Sarn the titular planet. Being in such a location does give it a truly alien feel so kudos to that but you can tell it was a nightmare to shoot due to the terrain.

All in all it was an ok ep. Again I’m not sure if it’s cause of the recent tiredness but I just… didn’t vibe with it really. Next time (who knows when!) will be Caves Of Androzani that I can remember watching ages ago but only vaguely.

The making of was also unintentionally funny as it felt like every 5 minutes they shoehorned a new song in randomly which was amusing. But it was also funny that they filmed Peru’s drowning near a nudist beach and didn’t realise until they started filming. (Where a naked German went rushing to her aid thinking she was actually in trouble).

Tonight’s plan is maybe watch something but it depends on how my eyes feel. If it’s anything like the last days it might not be much but hopefully I can watch something,

Once again the past days have been low energy with my focus not being as there as I hoped.

Castle reruns started on channel 5 this week so we’ve ended up watching those. It’s such a great show and it’s so good seeing it from the start. I’m just a sucker for detective shows, especially with an outside consultant, they’re always fun.

I watched the other resurrection of the daleks special features, which were mostly with Janet Fielding (Tegan) and damn. I’d no idea that she’d had cancer, or that she’d been married to someone that she found out was dealing arms. Like ?? That’s so crazy. Plus there were cute seals.

I’ve also been continuing Tomodachi Life, which now has 3/4’s of MCR (minus Frank) and four people from Stranger Things (Dustin, Steve, Jonathan and Argyle). It’s funny seeing them go around doing their silly lil things. I wish I had art skills to make use of custom stuff and I do hope they add more things. I think the best of the miis I’ve made were Seapeekay and Ray.

I am still going on Pokopia, mostly still trying to get rid of ash. I think I have all the recipes now (bar the last few levelling ones) though I still need to get Pokémon. But the ash has sidetracked me and there’s so so much. Person who decided on that, you’re insane.

Also I watched Maul Shadow Lord, albeit a bit belatedly. Ugh the empire is there and being assholes. I really hope we get stuff that isn’t so empire centric some day but this was still pretty good. It was surprising how they made Marrok’s comeback so threatening too.

Wednesday was a trip to get mums meds which went wrong cause some weren’t there and so that’s caused issues (she has a certain make, but apparently they’re not getable anymore and we don’t know why). I did get a marvel rivals graphic novel and the usual Lego magazines from sainsburys, plus gaming books from Aldi but not much else.

So Stranger Things Tales From 85 went live yesterday and I watched the first two eps (I’d have watched another but, as is often the case tiredness hit) so thoughts ahoy.

Before I go into detail I have enjoyed it so far in general. But more thoughts are under the cut (with - when we get to more detail to avoid spoilers)

So yeah I think I might try and watch the series over the weekend (superseding the plans I originally had for nighttime stuff).

General night time stuff I wanna watch being Heated Rivalry, The Beauty and Pizza Movie (plus I wanna finally get back to Welcome to Derry I’m determined to finish the last eps over the next two weeks). Also I am thinking of doing a Mandalorian rewatch but I dunno i can squeeze it in before the film. We’ll see.

Plus I wanna watch the blu rays of Warning From Space (and maybe other things too, like Life Force, Sacred Spirit and Weapons).

But next week is one of those busy weeks. Mum’s friend coming (ugh), food shop delivery, mum’s birthday and free comic book day/theatre open day.
